About Ailsa Page – Director of AP Marketing Works
Ailsa Page
FAMI, CPM, CSP, BA (Psych), PGDip (Management)
I am a professional marketer, marketing consultant, workshop presenter, keynote speaker and author of 3 small business marketing books.
Passionate supporter of small business for 20+ years specialising in finding your point of difference with easy to understand strategies and techniques that get results.
I’ve helped hundreds of small to medium businesses and organisations dramatically improve their bottom line either by sales, membership base, or profile. Importantly, I know what it takes to succeed in small business (after all, AP Marketing Works has been going strong since 1999). I know what works, and what doesn’t.
I have a business head and a gypsy heart, which is why even though Melbourne is my home base, I have a sweet spot for helping businesses interstate and in Victorian regional areas such as Mildura, Shepparton, Hamilton, Gippsland, Bendigo, and Geelong.
When you work with me, we work together. You have access to my trusted marketing suppliers and contacts. I make it my business to get to know your business – and your customers – inside and out, so I can devise a strategy that gets real measurable results.

3 books and counting
Ailsa has been teaching marketing and business principles in easy to understand language for a quarter of a century. Known for her straight shooting, no jargon, common sense approach to business it was natural for her to take some of this knowledge and use it, to author three, small business marketing books. Her aim is for all readers of her books to gain a much needed business buddy in the bookshelf.
Her first and best selling book is the Shoe String Marketing Kit for Small Business which unpacks key principles of marketing and provides tips on how not to spend more than you need to.
This book was followed up by ‘The Year I Owned a Wineshop. How to build a great business by learning from others’ mistakes.’ This book was recently awarded Winner 2022 Sales and Business Performance Book Award by Able Authors.
Her third book Get Good or Get Off – a guide to getting it right on social media was written in 2017 as a response to the confusion and poor practises in social media by businesses.
Ailsa has also written for…
Business Victoria Online, MYOB Pulse Online Business Hub, Herald Sun, Business West, Inside Small Business and Smart Company and she recently wrote a chapter in Ethical Business Dilemmas published by Universal Business School Sydney.
